Overview
This statute briefly prescribes the ordination of presbyters and deacons and refers back to earlier instructions concerning women serving in named ecclesiastical roles.
1Statute 55.
2Concerning the ordination of presbyters and deacons. Concerning subdeacons, deaconesses, subdeaconesses, and female readers.
3You, bishop, shall ordain the presbyter and lay your hand upon his head while the presbyters and all the deacons stand by. Pray and ordain him.
4Likewise, for the deacons, lay your hand upon them while the presbyters and all the deacons stand by.
