Canon 21
Overview
This canon prescribes deposition and excommunication for a bishop who gains control of a church through secular rulers, together with those who follow him.
1Canon 21. Concerning one who seeks assistance in order to take possession of a church.
2If a bishop has recourse to the authority of the rulers of this world and takes possession of a church through them, let him be deposed and excommunicated, both he and all who followed him.
