Canon 13
Overview
This canon lists marriages and unions that disqualify a person from appointment as bishop, presbyter, deacon, or priest.
1Canon Thirteen.
2Concerning one who has married twice or married a widow.
3One who has married twice or kept a concubine after baptism cannot be appointed bishop, presbyter, or deacon, nor may he be counted at all among the ordained clergy.
4One who has married a widow, a [taḥazabəwa] woman, a woman whom they have put to shame, a sexually immoral woman, a maidservant, or a woman who goes to theatrical performances cannot be appointed bishop, presbyter, or deacon, nor may he be counted at all among the ordained clergy.
5One who has lived with two sisters, or with his brother’s daughter, cannot become a priest.
