Canon 70

1Abṭelis, 70. If a bishop has sinned, the priests are to judge him, and if there are no priests in that region, he is to be judged by the metropolitan or by a bishop in the presence of others, for the law has been established, and the order of their faith has been set. He is not to be judged by those who are not in the order of bishops. If there are bishops nearby, they are to be summoned, and they are to come to him, examine his case, and see what he has done. If he comes to them and his sin is proven, he is to be condemned for what he has done, and he is to be corrected for what he has violated, according to the law of his country. But if he refuses to come to them, they are to send for him again. If he still does not come, they are to send for him a second time, and a third time. If he still refuses and does not listen to them, he is to be expelled from the people, and he is to be removed, and he is not to be like his fathers to the people, for he is not worthy.
