Overview
This canon addresses theft from the church, prescribing removal from office for clergy and restitution with a fivefold penalty for the stolen item.
1Abṭelis, 68. If a priest or a layperson steals from the church, whether a sacred vessel or a sacred object, he is not to be removed from his office, but he must restore what he stole with a fivefold penalty.
