Abtilis
Canon 12
Overview
This canon forbids a priest from leaving his own bishop and people to serve another nation without the bishop's consent; if he does so, both he and the one who received him are to be expelled. If he was already deposed or excommunicated and left under that status, he is to be expelled from the people, as he is a liar and has deceived God, the church, and the faith.
1Abṭelis, 12. If a priest leaves his Lord and goes to another nation, except by the command of the bishop who ordained him, he shall not be received into the clergy of priests. If he is received, let both he and the one who received him be expelled. If he was already deposed or excommunicated and left under that status, let him be expelled from the people, for he is a liar and has deceived God, the church, and the narrow path of faith.
