Overview
This statute addresses burial in a grave prepared for the poor, payment for those responsible for the burial place, and support provided by the bishop from church offerings.
1Statute 48 — Concerning the grave.
2No one shall, by his command, compel the burial of a person in a grave made for all the poor. Rather, they shall pay wages to the hired person who digs, to the person who guards that place, and to the person who has charge of those things. The bishop shall support him from what is offered to the churches.
