Canon 26
Overview
This canon requires an appointed bishop, presbyter, or deacon to care for the assigned people and addresses the case of a bishop whom the people refuse to receive.
1Canon 26.
2If a bishop is appointed but neither corrects nor cares for the people given to him, let him be separated until he corrects them; likewise a presbyter and a deacon.
3If he goes and they do not allow him to enter, and this is not due to his own decision but to the decision of the people, let him remain bishop. But the clergy of the city shall be separated, because they did not teach the people accordingly.
