1Near that place I saw another narrow place. The blood and filth of those being punished flowed down into it and formed what seemed to be a lake.

2Women sat there with the blood reaching up to their necks. Opposite them sat many children who had been born to them before their proper time, crying out. Sparks of fire came from the children and struck the women in the eyes.

3These were the accursed women who conceived and caused abortions.
