Canon 55
Overview
This canon requires bishops to correct and discipline sinful priests, prescribing deposition and penance for bishops who fail to do so.
1Abṭelis, 55. If a bishop or one who is a bishop of a diocese sees a man from among the priests who is sinful and stubborn, and he does not give permission to his synod, and he does not restrain him, and he does not rebuke him, let him be removed, and let him be found guilty.
