Abtilis

Canon 9

Overview

This canon mandates that any faithful person who attends the church during the liturgy, hears the Holy Scriptures, and remains until the conclusion of the prayers and the Eucharist must partake of the communion; failure to do so is equated with breaking the law and dishonoring the heavenly King.

1Abṭelis, 9. If a man, being among the faithful, enters the church during the time of the liturgy, hears the Holy Scriptures, and does not depart until the prayers and the liturgy are completed, yet does not partake of the Eucharist, let him be expelled from the church, for he has broken the law and dishonored his standing before the heavenly King, the King of flesh and spirit.
