Statute 66

Overview

This statute directs believers to wash and pray upon rising, to give priority to religious exhortation, and to treat servants fairly.

1Concerning the washing of hands at the time of prayer: Every believing man and woman, upon rising from sleep at daybreak and before doing any work, shall wash their hands and pray. If there is a word of exhortation, they shall place the good word of religion above everything else.

2Believing men and women shall keep their servants under fair conditions of service, as we have already commanded in Scripture and instructed concerning honest slaves.
