Statute 44

Overview

This statute directs believers to pray upon waking and encourages them to attend instruction and gather in the church.

1Statute 44 — Concerning the proper times for prayer.

2When believers awake and rise from sleep, they shall wash their hands and pray to God before doing any work. Afterward they shall go to their work.

3If a word of instruction is being given, they shall choose to go to the place where the word of instruction is—that is, the word of God, which strengthens the soul. They shall hasten to go to the church, where the Spirit is, and there they shall bear fruit.
