Tizaz
Statute 10
Overview
Judah instructs his son to avoid murmuring, oppression, and pride, and to live gently, humbly, and thankfully before God.
1Judah said: O my son, you shall not be a murmurer, because murmuring leads a person to cursing. Nor shall you be overbearing, oppressive, or malicious, because unbelief will be found in all these things.
2Be gentle, because the gentle shall inherit the kingdom of heaven. Be kind, merciful, and peaceable, with a heart pure from all evil and without sin. Be good and humble, and keep yourself in trembling before the word you have heard.
3You shall not boast or place yourself among the great, but among righteous and humble people. Receive everything that happens to you with thanksgiving to God, and know that nothing whatever happens except from God.
