Canon 19
Overview
This canon directs the church to receive converts while permitting contact with their former people, but it treats a return to unbelief and idolatry as apostasy.
1Command.
2Let them receive everyone who comes into the faith and join him to themselves. They shall not forbid him to go to his people, whether Jews or worshipers of idols.
3But if, after being joined, he returns to what was formerly his practice and then turns back to those who do not believe, they shall not receive him except as one of the worshipers of idols.
