Shorter Witness — Chapter 21: The Magi
Protoevangelium of James · Chapter 29 of 29 · 4 passages
1And look! Joseph prepared to go out into Judea when a great commotion arose in Bethlehem of Judea. For magi came, saying, “Where is the king of the Jews? We saw his star in the East and have come to worship him.”
2When Herod heard this, he was disturbed. He sent officers and summoned them—the magi—and they told him about the star.
3And look! They saw stars in the East. They—the stars—led them—the magi—until they came to the cave, and it—the star—stood over the head of the child. When the magi saw him with his mother Mary, they took gifts from their bags: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
4Having been warned by the angel, they returned to their country by another way.
