Chapter 27

Didesqelya · Section 27 of 43 · 2 passages

1Behold, beloved brothers, we give you good counsel: keep far away from impure edi, from listening to songs, from delicacies and luxury, and from every vain work in which there is no profit. Do not indulge the pleasure desired by your flesh on the Sabbath day, for the prophet says, “Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice before him with trembling.”

2It is not fitting for a Christian to listen to singing, music, and the playing of instruments, as foolish people do. Moreover, let them not take upon their lips the names of false gods and idols, nor name Satan or his angels. For when they name him, the Holy Spirit departs from them, and an unclean spirit abides upon them in his place.
